"God is love. He doesn't care."

This is what people are learning in churches these days.

The title quote is attributed to gospel singer Leah Shafer regarding her lesbian affair with Sandy Yawn as discussed here:

She has defined the meaning of love in her own mind while completely ignoring the Almighty's instruction on the matter.

This sort of perversion is what happens when there is a focus on 'love' in the absence of obedience.

For example, in the unedited version of the Ten Commandments, Father says this:

for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the fathers’ sin, to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,  but showing faithful love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commands.  (Exodus 20:5-6)

 Please notice that the concept of obeying His commands is directly related to showing Him our love.  One can't claim to love Him with all their heart while disobeying His commands in favor of their church's traditions.

The homosexuals have been taught by the churches to ignore the commandments that are inconvenient.  For example, just a few verses later in the Ten Commandments the Almighty says this:

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy: 9 You are to labor six days and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. You must not do any work—you, your son or daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the foreigner who is within your gates. 11 For the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and everything in them in six days; then He rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and declared it holy.

The churches have tossed out this commandment and replaced it with:

Remember Sunday and go to church (when it's convenient).  It's even okay if you want to go to work later or go out to eat while others serve you.  God is love.  He doesn't care.

There is little difference between the average pastor and this lesbian.  They both have disregarded His instructions with the justification that "God is love".   The lesbian ignores the instruction against homosexuality while the pastor ignores many others including the one about the Sabbath. 

Nowhere in His word does it say that it is up to us to determine how to express our love.  His commandments spell it out for us.
